Recently, I went on a cruise into the Bahamas with my wife and her family. It was nice. From the crystal clear water to the pigs rushing through the water. It was a fun week trip.
To start, we woke up on Monday morning at about 2 AM and got a lift down to the airport with my in-laws. This was the EARLY morning start that anybody wants. Fresh humid morning air, the outline of clouds made from the moon’s reflection of the sun, and knowing you are going to hurry up and get to the airport to wait.
On the way down to the airport, we listened to a variety of classics and Viagra ads provided by the local classic rock radio station. The car ride was mostly silence from the boarding passengers being me, my wife, her sister, our brother in-law, and her mom and dad.
Once at the airport, we waited for about two hours for our plane to start boarding. With this being my wife’s first time flying, she was a little nervous. I have only flew 2 times before. This time would be my third. Right before we started to step foot into the expandable passage they project into the plane for passengers to board, my mother in-law fell sick and threw up in the near trash bin. Perplexed by this, my sister in-law (I will call her Linda for the sake of privacy) asks the boarding attendant to wait for her. The attendant said he would give our seats up in one minute. My mother in-law (Nancy) was rushed out of the bathroom and onto the plane. She fell sick once more when we were getting off the plane.
Once we arrived in Miami, it was not much longer and we all were standing on the MSC Seaside cruise line. It had a casino, two buffets, restaurants, two swimming pools, a couple of water slides and a lot more that I didn’t see. The cruise line left the port in Miami at about 5 PM. The moment we started to leave was a thrilling experience for someone who has no familiarity of being on any boat or ship before.
The itinerary for the week was as follows. Monday was leaving Miami. Tuesday we spent in Nassau and swam with the pigs. Wednesday we got to the MSC private island. Thursday we stayed at the private island and roamed. Friday we were back in Miami heading home.
Since this was my first time going to a beach with crystal clear water. I was taken in awe with the scenery. We saw a lighthouse, small crabs, fish swimming with us while we were snorkeling, iguanas on the sea shore.

One of the wildest things that happened to me while on the ship is when I won my first raffle. My wife wanted a magnet from the cruise’s gift shop, so we walked in together and bought one for $6.90. When we were exiting the shop, there was a small plastic box that was labeled for a raffle. You had the chance to win a $69.90 small model of the ship you were cruising on. The raffle occurred on Thursday night. My wife dropped my receipt into the small box, and we were late coming into the shop on Thursday. So late that they were about to re-draw the raffle until we walked in and my brother in-law pulled us up to where they drew the raffle and yelled “HERE THEY ARE.”

All in all, our trip to the Bahamas was extraordinary. I enjoyed being there with my beloved wife as well as my in-laws. It was a memory I am glad I made, and I am glad I can cherish. I thank God for the love of my wife, the love He has for both of us, and the memory He has let us all share in this experience.
